Have you ever been blinded to the truth?

This is one shadow aspect of The Disciple Archetype.

Are you feeling that strong pull from people and companies who are saying...

  • Believe Me
  • Follow Me
  • Like Me

Do you sense their desperation, their need to convenience you that their “ME” is the truth, the only way.

  • Believe Me - I’m the best resource
  • Follow Me - I’m the only diet that works
  • Like Me - I’m the one you can trust

Are they trying to get you to blindly give yourself up to another person, cause, or specific discipline?

Giving away your power is another shadow aspect of the Disciple Archetype.

Remember in the 1960’s when having a Guru was the “In Thing.”  Heck, even the Beatles rock group has gurus.

Finding mentors, resources, and avenues to learn, grow, and expand our consciousness is a good thing.

Being devoted to a cause, teacher, or specific discipline, WHILE using discernment and free will in all that we do, is the “healthy” aspect of the Disciple Archetype.

There are so many divine teachers available to us in business and personal development.

I have immersed myself into various topics and teachers at different times in my life.  Each having a profound change in my thinking and actions.  Some of my Disciple moments have been:

  • When I read Dr. Phil’s first book called “Self Matters”.  I hid from the world, like a bear hibernating for the winter when I went through that book.  I spent about a month deep in to my own internal evolution.
  • “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill?  It’s like the bible for entrepreneurs.  I still re-read it often.
  • The “E Myth Revisited” by Michael E. Gerber awakened me to aspects of being an entrepreneur that I had not seen before.
  • I was profoundly changed when studying “The Go-Giver” by Bob Burg.  Thank you.
  • Being opened up to the world of Chakras and Archetypes through Carolyn Myss, Ph.D. was a strong catalyst for transformation in me and how I viewed the world.

In each of these cases I absorbed all they had to offer.  I kept only that which resonated with me at the time.

Questioned everything.

Chose not to take what they said solely as GOSPEL.

My question to you is...

What are you taking as Gospel?

I’m not talking religion here, thought that’s another subject I could pontificate on for days.

Bottom line...

Where are you giving your power away?
